Schools Interoperability
Framework TM
Integrating Systems to Create Information
The primary goal of the Schools Interoperability
Framework (SIF)* is to enable data sharing
among existing school and district systems. SIF provides a technology
standard that enables the first step in effective Data-Driven
Decision Making - Integration.
SIF Implementation enables
seamless integration of a broad spectrum of instructional, administrative
and communication tools, which creates an effective learning environment
within a school or a district. SIF is also known to significantly
improve information accuracy, availability, and security.

|
The benefits of implementing SIF,
both short and long term, include:
- Improved data accuracy
- Decreased time spent on data entry
and management
- Effective data sharing among systems
- Interoperability among systems from
different vendors
